With an automated production line about 21 meters long, the process starts with hard Ivory paper that has been offset printed and laminated.
The paper goes through several steps:
-
Paper feeding
-
Bag folding
-
Sealing the edges
-
Folding the top of the bag
-
Attaching the top strip
-
Folding the bottom of the bag
-
Sealing the bottom of the bag
-
Finally, inserting the bag handles…
In less than a minute, you have a bag ready for shopping! If done manually, this process would take ten times longer, require more effort, and the results wouldn’t be as sharp or as high-quality.
However, automatic production doesn’t always mean lower costs, and manual production isn’t always cheaper. For small quantities, manual production may be faster, with slightly higher costs, but the profits can be higher since there’s no machine depreciation to account for.
On the other hand, for large orders, numbering in the millions or tens of millions, only automated machines can meet the demand. The bags are affordable, beautiful, and produced quickly. Although the profit per item is small, you can earn more in a shorter time, enough to cover machine costs and generate profit.
Therefore, to get the best price, avoid making things difficult for manufacturers by following these guidelines:
-
The bag size should not be too large or too small; it must fit the machine size.
-
Materials that are oversized, too soft, or too rigid require specialized machinery, which is hard to find, or they need to be manually processed. For smaller quantities, manual production might be possible, but for large quantities, adjustments must be made at the design stage to ensure compatibility.
-
Don’t cut costs by splitting the bag and sealing both sides. In fact, sealing both sides increases labor costs, and the bags may end up misaligned, leading to a poor final appearance.
-
Choose the right supplier for your order:
-
For small orders, use small to medium-sized producers.
-
For large orders, use manufacturers with automated machinery.
-
This will help avoid delays and ensure timely delivery.
