“Visiting a Successful Business: CHOLIMEX – The Journey of Creating Flavors”

THE JOURNEY OF CREATING “THE FLAVOR OF HAPPINESS”

For a brand, when it reaches the milestone of over three decades, the stories to tell are not just about business challenges but also the philosophy that has shaped the company’s culture.

SAHABOX is truly fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit and listen to the current CEO, Mr. Diệp Nam Hải, share the achievements and challenges of the company, along with a tour of the production process behind a bottle of Cholimex chili sauce, as part of a trip with the Young Entrepreneurs Associations of Lam Dong and Ho Chi Minh City.

It was a familiar feeling, mixed with pride, because of the spirit of “Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese products.”

From Cholimex Chili Sauce…

In June 2019, Cholimex Food celebrated its 36th anniversary. Over more than three decades, many stories have been created to build this brand.

From 1983-1985, Cholimex Food’s journey began with its first chili sauce bottles, tailored to the tastes of Vietnamese consumers. However, production was still rudimentary, with manual equipment such as stone grinders and hand-filled bottles, so there was no major breakthrough in the market at that time.

From 1992 to 1999, the Cholimex chili sauce of the 90s followed a strict production process, with technical guidance from renowned and respected chili sauce and ketchup experts in the food processing industry. This allowed the company to increase its chili sauce production capacity from a few thousand bottles per day to approximately 30,000 bottles per day, beginning large-scale exports to countries like Russia, Poland, and Ukraine.

…To the Vibrant Flavors of Cholimex Food

In 2009, the company focused on industrialization, with a nearly 4-hectare factory built in Vĩnh Lộc Industrial Park, ushering in a new period of development. Since then, Cholimex Food has rebranded with its distinctive red color and the slogan “The Flavor of Life,” ensuring its presence on the kitchen shelves of every Vietnamese household.
